What’s In for Men…

Chunky and colorful sweaters are going to be everywhere this fall says Indianapolis Men's StylistMen, if you want to try some trends for fall, here are some ideas from your Indianapolis Men’s Stylist. First, in general, silhouettes are slightly bigger, something like the 90s. If you are a larger guy, make sure you don’t go too big. It will not flatter you. Conversely, if you are a more slight build, don’t go too big either. It will look as though it doesn’t fit. Comfort is still king in men’s wear fashion. We are still living in the COVID age; not everyone has or even will return to the office, so pretty much everyone needs or wants some easy-to-wear, comfortable clothing.

Add to this that many of us gained some weight during our time at home, so pants with some “give” or even elastic built into the sleek style is in high demand. I particularly noticed this when I was shopping with some of my male clients for the last six months. Elastic would be hidden in the sleek dress pants, the linen shorts, etc. People love that it was not as obvious.

Indianapolis Men’s Stylist Fall 2021 Recommendations

Sneakers

Of course, sneakers are still big, as are some other colorful items we’re seeing from designers for fall and winter. For instance, this pair of colorful sneakers is just fun. (Ladies – don’t be afraid to buy them, too!). It is by Adidas and designer Grace Wales Bonner. (Adidas Originals x Wales Bonner).

Sweaters

Colorful Molehair sweaters are going to be all the rage this fall for men

If you like warm, cozy sweaters, your Indianapolis Men’s Stylist has a bunch for you to choose from. If you’re willing to splurge, or find a knockoff at your favorite department store, this beauty is by Giorgio Armani and is $1,795.

Here is another less expensive sweater option by Y/Project designer Glenn Martens. These fun, “rebel” designs and mix-and-matched patterns are just the thing to make you stand out at your weekend soirees! ($325).

The sweater-vest is back! Maybe you think the sweater vest is a staple for your English professor or the older, pipe-smoking gentleman. But this is not so! Wear this Fair Isle version or a solid version with a button-down and jeans! The Polo Ralph Lauren sweater-vest is $228.

 Pants

If you have never owned faux leather or even thought you’d want to own some, think again. Ladies have enjoyed leather pants or leggings the last couple of years. I joined the bandwagon last year, and I cannot tell you how often I wore my leather leggings. This year, I have added some wider-leg leather pants. They can be washed, too!

This pair by David Catálan faux-leather trousers follow the more relaxed, 90’s era we are seeing in fashion now.

Coats & Accessories

If you like to sport a bracelet, necklace, or ring, consider this very simple necklace (girls you may like it, too!). It is by the Japanese label Ambush, the Japanese label. It’s; functional, too, in that it’s a lighter!

Also, if you’ve ever read my blogs or worked with me, you know this — I am mad about a great quality coat. Especially as an Indianapolis Men’s Stylist, I recommend quality coats for men as well! A couple of my clients need some type of winter coat.  Any of these coats from Saks 5th Avenue are a great investment. Buy one now before fall gets too cold, and then you’ll still be able to wear it in the winter.
