Brown Leather
As an Indianapolis Styling Consultant, I can tell you that brown has been a hot color in the fashion industry for a few months now, and trust me, it won’t be going anywhere. Stand out this fall with brown leather rather than typical black. The rich color will add an element of chic to any outfit. I recommend investing in a brown leather trench or even try out a pair of leather pants. For a monochromatic moment, try pairing with a chocolate brown turtleneck, and cheetah print mules. This type of head to toe dressing will make you feel so put together. Brown leather also pairs nicely with a sky blue, aqua, green, or even red for a little pop of color. Be ready to make brown leather your go-to option all season long. Brown jackets, like this one from Michael Kors, can make a statement and match most of your fall outfits.
Equestrian Style
In the past few years, there has definitely been a huge influence of Western-style, but this year we see more of an equestrian influence. In other words, trade-in your cowboy boots, for riding boots. You can implement this style with anything from a chic tailored blazer, sleek boots, or my personal favorite, a sweater vest. Pairing a slightly oversized sweater vest over a fitted white tee in the perfect transitional outfit. Wear with jeans and some slip-on. When the colder months hit just add a blazer and boots.
Chain Details
Chains have been treading over the past few seasons, and this fall calls for nothing different. Chains are the perfect way to accessorize. Whether you prefer gold or silver you can really do it all with this trend. You can find chains sprinkled into just about every accessory this season. Whether it is detailing on a belt, strapped across a bag, or a big pair of statement earrings they are sure to take your outfit to the next level.
The great thing about this trend is you can go as minimal or go “big!” To begin, try starting with a dainty gold chain necklace. This is the type of thing you can throw on with anything, and it will make your outfit look more finished. When it comes to wearing chains, this Indianapolis Styling Consultant recommends thinking outside the box. Belts, patterns, big and small, or layered chains can be fun to play with. However, if you’re the type of person that thinks more is more, try out a chunky chain belt and don’t be afraid to match or mix your metals—gold, rose-gold, silver–with some chain bracelets, or earrings as well.
Skirt Suits
This summer we saw short suits absolutely dominating our Instagram feed. With the changing of the seasons, comes an adjustment to this trend. This fall, skirt suits are where it’s at. Wearing a matching skirt set gives you a head-to-toe finished look. If needed, you can mix and match, and depending on the weather you can ditch the blazer all together. Skirt suits can be trendy or professional. With many people starting to return to the office consider a skirt suit for your first day back to work. It’s easy to wear and looks great on everybody. If you’re going out for drinks after work, you can keep the blazer on and just add some jeans and heels for a great day to night look. I like this skirt suit since it’s different, and you can easily wear the jacket with light or dark colored pants.
Gloves
This trend is not only the definition of chic but super relevant amid COVID. Gloves can not only make you look bold and keep you warm but also prevent you from germs. Gloves made an appearance across so many fall runways. Although this trend may seem frivolous and just a touch dramatic, they can be a really fun way to dress up an outfit. An easy way to rock this trend is by getting a pair of leather gloves. They are easy to move around in and look great on everybody. Throwing them on with your favorite faux fur jacket will take you to the next level.
