My Favorite Things…

Hello Fashionistas,

Indianapolis Personal Stylist Favorite Items

Here are just some of my favorite items I see and buy as I do my personal shopping trips with clients:

Jeans:

For medium to low priced jeans, I like Lucky Brand jeans, particularly Lolita cut if you are curvy; Old Navy Mid-rise Super Skinny Jeans; and Macy’s Inc jeans since they carry short and long lengths.

Skin care:

If you are wanting to try some products, don’t forget to go to your fav department store and ask for samples. It’s a good way to try a product without making a huge investment. Also, don’t be afraid to purchase it during gift time. You will get other full-size products you will enjoy, not to mention the makeup bags.

I used to love a very expensive cream, which not be mentioned here, but I have switched back to Lancome’s Visionnaire serum and oil to cream gel night cream, pictured here. They really soak into your skin and renew your glow and smooth surface. Love it!

Clarins is a close second for its organic properties, and double action serum and night cream, and lip oil.

For something less expensive, I agree with my makeup professionals, it’s Olay Regenerist or Aveeno products for sensitive skin.

Skin treatment:

You can’t beat Dr. Gross’s Extra Strength Beta Hydroxy pads. I don’t use them daily, more like three times a week. They restore your glow help get rid of dead skin.

Simple sheath or work dress:

Macy’s is one of the best choices, with Von Maur a close second. This is especially true if you are wanting a good neutral dress to layer with in cream, black, navy or blue. If you watch, you can probably get a good sale as well. Ann Taylor is a another good option for basic dresses.

Shoes:

We all love them!! I have several choices for this, and I am focusing on quality, investment shoes, to not inexpensive shoes you often replace every year and don’t spend very much on.

Von Maur’s shoe department is awesome as, and I like their sale room, and, of course,  Nordstrom. I especially like it when Nordstrom shoe sales associates bring out shoes he/she thinks you will like — beyond anything you even think to request. Second, Carson’s is a great option, especially for inexpensive shoes and selection. Macy’s is very good, too, for selection and prices.

I also like to order online on 6 pm and Shoe Mall as well as Sole Society–they are lower priced but very modern. Finally, for comfort shoes, and even some stylish shoes in this hemisphere, I like Englins Fine Footwear at Keystone Mall. Last year, I bought some Ugg sandals and they are so well made and stylish I will wear them for several seasons.

Lingerie:

We all have different needs with bras, etc., so I am mentioning several choices. For inexpensive lingerie, Kohl’s has a good selection and many brands from which to choose, as does Macy’s and of course, Victoria’s Secret. I am starting to like Soma, due to their colors and selections, as well as the standby, Nordstrom, although it’s not an economically great place to shop for lingerie basics. Barbara’s New Beginnings near Keystone at the Crossing mall is another great store since it specializes in bra fittings and items/sizes not always available elsewhere. Barbara has been featured on national media for her expertise.

I have many more favorites, and I will save that for another day (and do a men’s version, too).

Keep is sassy, Indy.
