Although they are not new, music festivals are really becoming popular. It’s a chance to travel to a cool destination, see friends, and hear many popular bands over a couple of days — instead of just an artist or two.
Here in Indianapolis, Symphony on the Prairie also counts as a musical event as do the several outdoor concert venues around town. So … what should you wear? Of course, it all depends on you, the weather, whether you’re siting in a lawn chair or blanket, or planning on standing most of the time. Comfort is key!
I think cotton or sheer silk maxi dresses or skirts are really pretty for these events. Pair skirts with a crop top, a tank top or a sheer fitted blouse. Denim cut-off shorts with a cute T-shirt, a cream lacy top or vest/shirt combo are nice…pair with brown booties or cute sandals. Jeans–distressed, white or dark rinse–are always in…pair with a color silk shirt or fitted black T and some big earrings. I also like printed, silk shorts with a dark top as well as a printed shorts romper. They are comfortable and dressy. A cream or white gauzy dress is pretty, too. Bring a denim jacket in case the weather turns cool at night.
Don’t forget your Boho or Panama hat, especially is you’ll be outdoors during the day (Sunblock, too).
Keep it sassy, Indy.
